Time

This week’s theme on the radio is something yet again universal. Time is a concept that effects everyone and everything –thus an excellent topic for our show.

I’m often struck by just how many songs are written about a particular topic. We’ve done shows on Traveling and Technology and Mayhem and Fire and all of these concepts spanned every genre. Interestingly though, some genres seemed to hold a corner on the market in some topics. For example, almost every song in the Traveling show was rooted in country or bluegrass. Technology was all about Techno and Synth-pop. A few topics have spanned every genre equally. I think Time is one of them.

Of all the theories on Time I’ve read, the only one I feel compelled to post is from a man near and dear to every nerd’s heart.

Time is a companion that goes with us on a journey. It reminds us to cherish each moment, because it will never come again. What we leave behind is not as important as how we have lived.

So maybe Time itself isn’t the issue at all. Maybe we should just enjoy the music. :)
