Techno

To start, I know very little about Techno as a genre. I’m that girl. The one who’s likely to apply the word “Techno” to any and all vaguely electronic sounding song. I even giggled at that Strongbad flash because it’s cool to make fun of stuff you don’t really get.

This week’s show theme is Techno (duh!) and if the reasoning behind this seems cloudy, let me clarify! My friend Keith is a DJ in his spare time and has been listening to Techno since I met him. He offered to mix a track or two for Longhair and I if we did a show on Techno and I leaped at the opportunity.

Keith should be coming up to Golden for the show on Saturday –armed with fierce beatz and a willingness to ramble.

The second motivation is the Music Technology class’ MIDI project. Several groups came up with fairly jawsome techno beatz for their project. When I offered to play the projects on the show, a few participants were really enthusiastic.
