Songs We’re Tired Of

January 26, 2009

I went and found a link to Billboard’s Hot 100 for the week.  Take a look at how many weeks most of these songs have been on the Hot 100.  Unless they were just “discovered”, they’ve been up there for an average of ten weeks.  TEN WEEKS.  That means that for the past ten weeks, we’ve been hearing the same 100 songs on the radio.

Ridiculous, right?

Our show this week was dedicated to all the overplayed monstrosities that assault our ears daily.  But, for us, our overplayed monstrosities may not be in the Hot 100.  They are, however, still overplayed.

Here’s a few links that point to various authorities’ top songs of all time.  Notice any constants?

Some of the songs I’m thinking of are definitely not on these lists.  Ah, being surrounded by people who all think that their musical taste is unique!
